First communion is an exciting time. A time for inclusion. We confess that all who come with a "believing heart" are welcome at the Lord's Table. We want all children to feel and know that they belong fully to the family of God. Welcoming them to the Lord's Table when they are toddlers will deepen their sense of belonging to Jesus and to everyone else who belong to Jesus. To teach the children a first understanding of communion we offer two classes before the actual 1st communion event. We help you as guardians to support your childs spiritual growth. Therefore we are asking an adult to acompany your child to these classes; someone who is willing and able to walk this path alongside your child and who can answer questions following lessons.
Classes are being held:
Thursday, March 5th from 5pm to 7pm
Thursday, March 19th from 5pm to 7pm

The 1st communion service will be held on Thursday, April 2nd at 6:30pm during Maundy Thursday service.

Two classes are offered. We are asking your child and up to two adults to participate. Class times are:
Thursday, March 5th from 5pm to 7pm and
Thursday, Marchth 19th from 5pm to 7pm.

We are planning on having a meal together during our class time. 

The 1st communion Sunday will be Maundy Thursday April 2nd at 6pm. If you are unable to attend any 1st communion classes we encourage you to reconsider the spring 2026 classes and attend the ones scheduled for fall 2026. If you are unable to attend one of the classes due to unforseen circumstances, we can offer at home materials to use on your own.
